Andrew Brown
Hi, my name is Andrew Brown.
After graduating from high school in 2003 I started at Curtin in 2004 doing a double degree in Physics & Electronic and Communications Engineering.
In 2007 I completed my undergraduate project in Physics which involved me setting up two Small Radio Telescopes (SRT) which will be used by future undergraduate students for projects and lab work. Continuing on with this over the summer of 2007/08 I was awarded an iVEC internship to set these two SRTs up as an interferometer and also create a way of archiving observed data at iVEC. My supervisor for both of these projects was Professor Merv Lynch.
Towards the end of 2008 and going into 2009 I will be completing my engineering project which I hope will also be within the field of radio astronomy. A few classes I will be taking in 2008 include Electronic Design, Communications Engineering, Astrophysics, and Data Communications & Networking.
